I pre-ordered this book a year ago, confident that its content won't disappoint me and today, my copy of Lovely: Ladies of Animation arrived!! I am so so so happy! My favourite artists and role models all in one book! This book is such a great little source for inspiration! It includes tips, tricks, commentary on how they go about making pictures, the medias they use, etc! I definitely recommend! This book pretty much explains itself; Lovely.

Eid Mubarak!
Tomorrow is Eid, the celebration of the end of Ramadhan so I decided to try my hand at a bit of Arabic calligraphy! We say Eid Mubarak to wish others a blessed/happy Eid, similar to how Christians say Merry Christmas on Christmas day :-)
Not sure if there is a rule to doing calligraphy but this is my really quick pencil sketch/plan. I started with jotting the words down normally then I started to play around with putting them in shapes but this was quite hard. Then I tried overlapping and exaggerating the sizes of the letters. I decided I really like the one on the bottom right because I like that its quite symmetrical-ish looking and still readable!
quick Eid selfie hehe! please ignore the background.. from left to right: Me, Salma, Ka Maya, Nita |

Hooked with the under water world!
I had a conversation with my dad about maybe going back to Indonesia for the summer and going scuba diving - the conversation reminded me of the drawing I did for visual language and I just felt the need to digitise it. I found the quote below and I thought wow this is sooooo true! I went snorkelling in Bali for the first time two years ago - t'was such an amazing experience! Everything was so beautiful! I was so annoyed that I didn't bring an underwater camera with me. The next day I had the opportunity to go scuba diving, but my flight was the day after and I didn't realise that you couldn't go on any flights before 24 or 48 hours (still can't remember, oops) after diving. I was devastated! Literally put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day - that was how annoyed I was haha. Visiting every single country in this world, scuba diving, along with sky diving are at the top of my bucket list!
Gonna print this out real big for my room! hehe :-D
